"Play for young children is not a recreation activity.... It is not leisure-time activity nor escape activity. Play is thinking time for young children. It is language time....problem solving time, memory time, planning time, investigating time. It is organization-of-ideas time, when the young child uses his mind and body and his social skills and all his powers in response to the stimuli he has met."

"Play is our brain's favorite way of learning"
-Diane Ackerman

  • The role of PLAY in a child's language development and learning is universal and timeless. Play is especially critical for children who are not able to engage in typical ways and/or engage in odd or a different manner.

  • This program will help parents shift their thinking from being anxious about their child's play and being "bossy" into becoming play "buddies" where parents engage in quality play.

  • This module is characterized by active engagement, is child-led and focuses on the process of play that is more important over the product.

  • Magpie Speech Therapy has been highly successful in the focused use of play in its early intervention modules. It has developed innovative techniques that help speech language therapy to be more effective. Based on our research , We have developed this module for parents to meet the same success at a faster pace, keeping in mind individualized family needs and help them see significant improvement in their child's social communication skills.

  • The program has undergone 2 revisions and was made generally available in Jan 2019. We have trained close to 100+ parents till now.
